Priya and Michael’s Beautiful wedding took place at the Sikh Temple in Kelowna BC.
The couple were adorned in traditional Indian clothes with jewels seen a mile away. Our bride Priya contacted us initially for henna on her hands as it is a tradition for brides. Her friends and family gathered at her parent’s residence to have henna.
Late Thursday evening, we attended the henna party, and my oh my, was it FUN! Lori & I danced the night away with Priya & Mike’s friends and family. A few ladies did attend to have henna done. The henna party also had a bangle ceremony. The Chuda (Bangle) ceremony is the oldest maternal uncle and aunt who play a significant role in handing over the set of red and cream ivory bangles that is touched by all present which is gifted by girl’s Mamma (mother’s Brother) the girl does not see the chuda until she is ready for the marriage.
Early next morning, the makeup and hair team of Cheek to Chic and Inspirado Designs arrived at the Kandola residence to beautify our beautiful bridal Party. What a great bridal party!!
Lori attended the Turban tying at Mike’s family home. It’s so great to see how two families become one, two traditions come together and family helping family!
The ceremony held at Kelowna Sikh Temple – As I watch the tradition of a marriage unfold, I couldn’t hold back the tears of joy for Priya & Mike. It was a stunning and eventful morning.
The Reception took place at the Okanagan Golf Club in Quail Ridge. One of my favorite locations, (as I used to live there!) Adrienne had the place sparkling and the venue was turned into a massive party hall! WOW is not enough words!
All in all, the wedding was spectacular! Congratulations Priya & Mike! <3
